Center for the Global Learner Travel Abroad Scholarship

Established by faculty and staff for worthy Durham Tech Students to assist in defraying the costs related to the Nicragua Travel Abroad program December 2017 – January 2018.

All required scholarship application materials listed below (The Application Packet) must be submitted (online or in person as applicable) by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, to the Center for the Global Learner (Building #1, Room 1-148).

Note: Notaries can be found on campus in the Business Office (Hyacinth Harding Ingram), in Human Resources (Suzi Jaikaran) and in the Student Information and Records Office (Jacquelyn McKeithan-Foster and Glenda Morris). Notaries can also be found in most banks or credit unions.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Do you have a passport valid until AT LEAST July 2018?
  2. Briefly describe your academic and personal interests.
  3. Briefly describe your prior international experience, if any. (If you do not have any previous travel experience, write "None".
  4. Submit a 500-word essay on either of the following topics: a) The impact of study/travel abroad on a student and his/her community; or b) How traveling abroad helps in professional development.

  7. CONTRACT: Typing my signature below is a seal of my commitment to comply with all the requirements for participation in the Study/Travel Abroad Program. I understand that by signing this document I am agreeing to all the stipulations set by Durham Tech's Liability Form for study/travel abroad. I am aware that registration in the companion course is required to be eligible to participated in the program. I am also aware that I will be responsible for all extra costs other than those provided as a part of the program, as well as personal and incidental expenses.
  8. Submit a printed, notarized copy of the Study/Travel Abroad Agreement and Liability Form either uploaded below, or in person to the Center for the Global Learner (Building #1, Room 1-148).
