Ralph E. Owens Scholarship

The Ebonettes Service Club (ESC) is a small nonprofit, service-oriented women’s organization, founded in 1972. The Club has served the Durham community for fifty-one years, providing scholarships to high school graduates and contributing to community concerns and needs. The ESC focuses on making a difference in the lives of Durham County citizens and advocating for the educational advancement of its youth. The annual scholarship being awarded is named for Ralph E. Owens, a Durham businessman, who is a generous, supportive, and loyal donor of the ESC’s fundraisers/scholarship program. Criteria: Enrolled in entrepreneurship, business, or architectural engineering programs of study; completion of 6 or more credit hours; enrolled in 6 or more credit hours; resident of Durham County.
